Samples
Serum. Aldosterone kit has been used in mouse/rat serum and plasma (see published references). Other fluids may be adapted

SpCrossreactivity
The antibody used in this kit is very sensitive and specific for aldosterone. The following compounds were tested for crossreactivity of the assay: Aldosterone (100%), 11-deoxycorticosterone (1.1%). The following steroids showed negligible (0.001%) crossreactivity: Androsterone, Cortisone, 11-deoxycortisol, 21-deoxycortisol, dihydrotestosterone, Estradiol, estriol, estrone, and testosterone. Aldosterone kithas been designed and tested for human serum samples. It may be optimized for other biological fluids. It has not been tested in animals (rat, mouse, etc). Since the steroid hormone is the same in all species, this kit should work in most species as long as the sample cocn is within the range of this kit
